having a problem with my turner mics. been trying to use the original expander 500,super side kick and plus three on my uniden washington,cobra 135xlr and my cobra 2000 but all the reports i have been getting are they sound muffled like i am talking thru a sock. could it be the elements are dead and are there any replacements.
 

my bet is that the amplified mics are overdriving your radios.

turn down the mic gain
 
I use the original Turner +2, +3 and the Super Side Kick and I have never had a bad audio report. Check the battery in the mic. and as C2 has suggested also check the mic. gain. Occasionally replacement parts can be found on eBay.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
