Am using a single length of copper wire as a short wave aerial. Works okay. Was just wondering if I could add to it? What I don't want to do is short circuit the wire I already have.
Add too it? As in make it longer? Just solder another piece on the end. What is there to "short circuit"? Run the now longer wire out to a point further away.

Thanks, it's just a long length of thin copper wire in a plastic sleeve. It isn't insulated at either end. I was wondering also if slotting an antenna tuner into my set up might improve reception?
Is it possible to be on a lake and have a homing directional beam being emitted from the shore so a person could navigate to that beam's source? For example at night to a jetty.
