My neighbor has given me an original "attic found" TRC 23B. I removed the cover to inspect for burnt and/or damaged parts and components and everything looks clean as a whistle. The receive is crisp and clear and I'm waiting for the mic to be found so I can verify if it transmits. A nice "Plain-Jane" radio for the garage. Can the RF power be adjusted / lowered?

Thank you very much.
The schematic indicates these to be coils and that is way-out of my field to tamper with. I'm leaving everything intact as from the manufacturer. I'll just clean-up the external surfaces and the control knobs and call it a day. Thanks again!

  • @ ButtFuzz:
on the connector with the green wire, if you short that to a nearby black wire, the power supply will turn on. (for use as a bench supply or whatever)
  • @ ButtFuzz:
And IIRC, the purple wire is -12VDC, but that is from memory and it does not serve.
  • @ ButtFuzz:
So if you need, say, 7v, connect + to the Yellow wire and - to the Red wire.
  • @ ButtFuzz:
or or you need 9v connect + to the yellow wire and - to the orange wire. note: not all PSU's have the orange wire nowadays, as many manufactures had the voltage regulation on the motherboard, and all the power supply gives is 12 vdc
