Greetings. I am looking for a radio that will transmit on all amateur bands as well as 11 meters and 173mhz. I would like to have just one radio in my truck. Currently I have a Yaesu 2m/440 rig, a CB, and the company radio (173mhz). I was hoping maybe the Icom 706 or the Yaesu FT100 could be modified to serve this purpose. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Main. For some reason I had to reregister on this forum and I couldn't use my old name, so I have a new one. Good call.

the jury is still out. iv'e heard pro's and cons for both. the 706 seems to be a little better on am than the ft100d. most of my gear is yaesu so i'm leaning toward that way. good luck

Hmmm...didn't think about the PL tone. I will ask the radio dude about that. Thanks.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
