The Sunday Creek Amateur Radio Federation (SCARF) Hamfest is fast approaching.

I remember my mom talking about her family going to Nelson Ledges back in the 30s 0r 40s.

I think Nelson Ledges is in Portage County, way up north. Garrettsville, Ohio, I can't remember. Used to scuba dive in a quarry near there and remember seeing the name.

Yep...your right.....tween Youngstown n Akron....cool place back in the day....my older brother and his friends took me along on a road trip when I was about 13.

Where do you live?

I live in Fairfield, County, but used to live/work in Nelsonville. I was a member of that club for a few years.

Out of all the central Ohio fests, Nelsonville seems to cater more to the 11 meter crowd. I wish they would change the date. Being so close after Christmas its hard to sell big ticket items as everyone blowed their wad on Christmas presents.

Anyways, I always have a good time there and always manage to find something to bring home.
