I have been looking at a site called swappa.com. I can't recommend them, because I just have no experience with them. However they seem to have some good prices on the phones they have for sale.

It's basically classified ads for cell phones only, so there is all the potential there for ebay and craigslist bullshit, just FYI.

I am in the same position here, been a loyal customer(started with alltell,then verizon bought them out) for over 10 years with several phones.

I have been so close to coming in for a new phone since part of my screen don't work, but just for the principle of the matter, i won't do it.

Here is a sprint ad directly targeting this "shared data" tactic...So i hope eventually Verizon will forget it.

The way I under stand it, Verizon needs to sell more of these shared data plans in order to be able to expand their 4G backbone. At one time i was thinking i would just do it and help them build their backbone, but i have not got it done yet!

P.S. Verizon is the only carrier in my area, i tried the nearby us cellular but it just could not provide coverage into all of my area.
