I run one of my 7000's in my Durango, I use a Little Tarheel II, it works great regularly work Europe, all the US and south America. Great radio and antenna combination.

Here's my preliminary mobil Rig setup...

Yaesu 857D
Yaesu ATA-120a
Diamond K400 mount
Inrad 720 2000hz SSB filter
Inrad 712 300hz CW filter

Mic? Stock mic, or stock mic with the w4rt OBP mod, or a MH-36E8J/MH-59A8J mic???

TCXO-9 install?

Anything else to add to this setup?

Yeah, I know. It's not an IC-7000 setup, but I really like what I've read about this radio and the ATAS 120a for convenience and for a first Rig.

If you have to buy the filters; then you spent more than you should - IMO. Do you do CW? If not; why bother with the filter for it? I would run with what you have first, and decide if you need to add filters . . .

DEFINITELY get the MH-59A8J mic if your going mobile, that makes life much much easier to operate that radio!
