New roadking mic,s

I want to try one of these. Used for PA system on the bus. Four pin plug, case looks to be good quality and strong. The screen for the front extends around part of the top to help eliminate echo from the housing. A gain control on the top, I am not sure if it is an attenuator or what.

I've been halfheartedly looking for wiring diagram to wire it up to my Grant xl. I've never been good @ looking at a Mic & figuring out the wiring.

I think for a few more dollars I would try a Heil hand Mic. That looks like a old style Cobra power Mic. Just mu thoughts.

I run a Workman CM-4 in truck and at the house (C29 and Ranger 196 rigs) I used to run the 636L in the truck till I sold a radio with the mic.

The down side is not noise cancelling.

The SRA-198 sounded flat I was told when I tried it on newer McKinley and AT-5555.

My voice apparently goes better with 500-600 impedence mics.

I may get the CM5 for the Ranger 296 5 pin and lose the 5-4 adapter..

What kind/ make of mic do you use on YOUR radio and WHY??

My favorites depend on several things like noise level in vehicle and the type of radio I'm pairing it up with but I've enjoyed using (and in some cases still owning) the following hand microphones : Astatic 636L, D104-M6, Turner Plus 3, and RoadKing 70.
