they have been out for the last year for anyone interested.

http://www.ncvec.org/downloads/2006tech.pdf good till 2010, no more diagrams i am told. if so the test should be a cakewalk.

*edit i just looked over it and its true. you no longer have to be able to read a schematic or know what anything inside a radio is including but not limted to detectors, mixers or any operating stages.

Carl, Sonwatcher, thanks for the help, I knew that the test had changed but did not know when it took effect. I plan on taking the test in Sept. If everything goes like it should.
