Hello, I'm working on getting my tech license. Already have a icom v8000 installed in the truck with a comet dual band antenna. I have been scanning and listening for the last few days. But yesterday and today I haven't been able to pick anything up. I'm hoping I haven't damaged the radio. I have been trying to get familiar with the new radio, maybe I just changed a setting somewhere?

If you weren't transmitting (were you?) then it would be hard to screw up he radio. Check all the connections.

Maybe turned on the Tone Squelch

Checked all connections. Wasn't transmitting (not licensed yet ;-)). I moved away from the big metal building I was sitting in front of, frequencies coming in loud and clear again. May I say again, I'm new? Lol nice to meet y'all!
