Greetings all

As stated, I am new to the site. I made my first DX contact last night to a gentleman in Puerto Rico from here in south Arkansas.

It actually surprised me, and I thought he was talking to someone else, until myself and several locals heard him say my CB handle several times over. I responded just for kicks, and we carried a convo for about 2 minutes.

I am on a Cobra 90LTD base with a A99 that is about 40 feet up at the base of the antenna.

Congrats on the DX!
It only gets better.

You should only wait till the sun grows some spots! I remember years ago every Sunday morning getting on lower side of 38 and talking with John and Sue. Ran a Cobras 142 GTL that was bone stock. And a Shakespear Big stick at 30 feet.

Did I mention that John and Sue both were in England????

Those were the days.........

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes

Wes, it's better if you start a thread on the main forum, more people are going to see your question.
