Just had to share the fact that I have ordered some new toys this morning.

Mainly a Yaesu FT857D with TXCO-9 high stability crystal, a dual band mobile antenna and a switching power supply.

I still need to decide which base antenna to use, whether I should get something such as the Arrow J-pole or what else sounds interesting. Plenty of time to decide, unless I get hit by a bus or something... haha...

This unit will be serving dual duty in the mobile and on the desk.

Tim great choice on picking a yaesu ft-857 you will like it i'm sure.As far as antennas for repeaters i would like to suggest Diamond
I have reached repeaters 100 miles away from my location. No problems with mine in 3 years, solid constuction, great gain, low swr.Keep us posted on which antenna you do decide on and good luck with new rig.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
