I have been poking around on this old dirty Connex radio and cant find the problem. It acts like there is a bad solder connection but that is not it. The frequency is all over the place as soon as I touch The center antenna lead or coil L31, L52 or L51 the radio goes right to frequency. It will also go to frequency if I touch the base or collector of the final or driver. I checked all the ceramic disc capacitors associated with the mentioned parts and they were not shorted. Any one have any ideas?

Yes all tight. That was the first thing I was hoping would fix It. I have been prodding and poking around on and off for a couple weeks and have never seen anything like it. No that I am a expert

  • @ Hambones amps:
Does anyone know if you can replace the 2290 in a galaxy dx 93t twin turbine with a 2sc2879 red dot? If so, what would have to be tuned?
  • @ ShadowDelaware:
Hambones the entire amp section would have to be retuned, and the rf transformers re wrapped.
