Does anyone know anything about this radio ?

I got one yesterday , and I can't find much of anything about it on the internet .

I know nothing about this radio, but curiosity got the better of me and I found this:

Looks like that's a scan from Sam's Photofacts Volume CB-5.

I can tell you two things about it. It's a "Double" sideband radio, not SSB. Far-simpler circuit, kept the price down.

The other thing is that I see five "K-Tran" IF/RF transformers in there.

That part was high-tech in 1962, but the internal structure is made from clear polystyrene. It shrinks and gets brittle with age. And with heat. Causes the radio to drop out intermittently at first. And eventually just stays broke. Fixing the internal structure issue that causes this has prompted some real creativity on the web, but will be labor intensive no matter how it's done.

I avoid them like monkey plague.

Do you have any Imperial spare parts? In particular, I need the Imperial logo that is in front of the speaker.
