palomar or skipper 300a question

Okay, i had a friend who owned a palomar 300a base tube amp i am not sure if it was a 300a or a skipper 300a

but it would do close to 900 watts and he drove it with his rci 2990 base rig

what amp and how many tube's would it have and what type of tubes?

That's more than double what it's rated at.....someone is exaggerating QUITE a bit.
