IC 512 is not any part I'm familiar with in these radios. If you can do a better job of describing the IC by board number, part number, or posting a picture, you are likely to get your answer.
 
did you find chip for your freq counter cob2k?

greetings from deep south texas!!! you need plessey1611s iwould advise to buy sockets for this...did you do the diode fix( i am assuming that you have out of lock /92.xxx thing. well heres the ebay auction number where i got mine 126370562945 sellers name is kmec-at-aol , believe me it was a long hard search have you seen the cobra service sheet? want it i can dig it up...gimme a reply lemme know whats up...hope this helps 73s...ralph

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
