Pearce Simpson Simba SSB 23 Channel

Ranch55,
With any luck, one of those out of spec caps was causing the issue.
Only time will tell.

Merry Christmas!

Yeah, it probably won't happen while it's on my bench.
Yep, Merry Christmas. It was a fine day here on the ranch ........

Well okay, the owner has the Simba SSB back at his home for a couple of days now.
He says the radio is operating better than ever since he has owned it.
I hope that replacing the mechanical relay, relay socket, and all 34 of the electrolytic capacitors cures the intermittent problem he experiences with the DC power fuse blowing. ( that issue never happened while on my bench)
I operated it for a week on my bench with no issues at all. Talked local and DX on it.
I really do not ever want to see that radio again.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
