President McKinley 2 FCC AM/FM/SSB

Unfortunately, the McKinley II does not have CTCSS/DCS tone capability. It does not have Noise Reduction Circuit (NRC). These features are available on most new AM/FM CB radios. President chose to ignore them on the McKinley II.

From Michael Scott’s post, there is an FM daughterboard installed in the radio, which was not present in the EU McKinley. I have the photo from ScottsRadios, but I don’t want to repost his photo without permission.

Photos of the board reveal President removed components and circuits from the EU version, so I guess that must have prompted the installation of the separate FM board.

President added some additional screen color choices to the McKinley.

Had the McKinley II offered the features listed above, I would have purchased it. Without the features included in lower priced radios, this radio will be a pass for me. YMMV.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
