I think glory days were the 80's Uniden chassis radios, Uniden was building radios for them and other brands and got good at it.
The first president radio I owned was a early Lincoln, built by Uniden for President electronics of Belgium, long before President Electronics Group of France was even a company.
About the time the first generation George came out suddenly the prices on President radios skyrocketed here.
President has a convoluted history, as far as I know the United States President trademark radios first we're offered for sale in Europe in 1980, but if you dig into the history of President France they report to have been started by two brothers in France in 1969, yet Jazzsigner had a really good history of President over in Europe before the brand become popular here that doesn't all add up..
Got to remember,no Internet back then it took a bunch of landline phone calls to answer any questions and often when you mentioned the word export, the phone would go silent and they had no idea what you were talking about.
There is a bunch of history about President radios in this old thread.
Including full catalogs from the 1980's of President stuff.
Can anyone list all the U.S.A. named Presidents that have been marketed under the President brand of CB/Export radios? Please also indicate "rare" on any models that are hard to get.
sorry for the d rail
