Ok I was digging around and looking through som bulk parts and found what I believe to be a bunch of inductors they read 2L 4 Ohm there are some smaller 4 ohm aswell but what would these be used for or what were they for?

Hmmmmmm...... not familiar with using "L" as a decimal marker. Usually manufacturers use "R" or "K" for thousands of ohms for resistors which is what you have BTW,resistors not inductors. I suspect if you measured them you would find that they measure 2.4 ohms and not 4 ohms. I am guessing from the looks of it that it is a wire wound resistor and possibly that is why they used the "L", to indicate that the resistor is inductive.

Sorry Im batting 100 today with this forum LMAO!! I just dont understand the L thing either and thats where I am confused. These are deffinately older pieces just a bit different as far as labeling.

What CK said - measure a few of them with a good ohmmeter and see what sort of readings you get. I can see what appear to be wires wrapped around the body (on the horizontal portions of the "2", the "L" and the top of the "P".

If I had to bet, I'd bet they're wire-wound resistors.

(If you have a means of measuring inductance, go for it and let us know).

The "L" here could possibly be this manufacturer's designator for power. So it could be a 2 watt resistor. It's had to tell by your pic as we can't compare it to anything. Take another pic with a penny or something next to it.

Could simply be a 2 watt, 4 ohm job.

Good luck

That's what I was think. It is probably made from nichrome ribbon wound on a ceramic form from the looks of it.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes

Wes, it's better if you start a thread on the main forum, more people are going to see your question.

Okay, sorry, will put in a forum

I put it in the general disscution help area and started a new thread. Thank you for letting me know.
