Hello to all the wonderful people at worldwideDX you ROCK

I'm wanting to attach some of these connectors
1000006395.jpg to some leads for this power supply

1000006398.jpg

Looks pretty straight forward but do I need to solder these guys ?

1000006397.jpg

That would be cool if I could just wind it around screw the cap on and get on with it

But I want to do the right thing

Well I was lazy and just twisted them on

But they seem to be working really good

I'm becoming more and more loving the "just use the DC power supply anyway"

Also I don't have to worry about that big ol TO-3 2SC7943 (?) getting hotter than hades

That's a solderless banana plug. It's meant for the wire to wrap around the metal just below the threads and get captured under the plastic cap when screwed down over the wire. The radio won't draw over 2 Amps, so you should be okay with this setup. Higher current than that might call for a soldered connection. And thicker wire.

Try starting a new thread in the Amplifier section and asking the question, more people will see it to respond.
