Sometimes I used delete after I made a post and noticed that I made a duplicate or some other error.

i can see where the delete would be handy as marconi mentioned when duplicate posts occur...no sense in having 2 posts saying the same thing, and having said that,
i have had duplicate posts myself for what ever reason, but don't remember how i handled it. More than likely a moderator deleted it for me cuz i just can't recall for sure.

not particularly, but I'm not looking for help. I'm not complaining, simply noting. this difference doesn't affect me much, I've probably deleted 2 posts out of thousands over the years.
my issue was that not having it the button while others do caused me to give out "incorrect" information. that bugs me far more than not being able to delete my posts.

Try it now. I found a security setting that may have been causing what you were experiencing.
