Radio Bastard on 38lsb?

the POINT is many of the posts you make are not only incorrect from a technical viewpoint , many are just plain STUPID.

freebanders, whining and moaning about" improper" use of frequencies they have no right to use,............. amazing!

I was stating an observation, does not matter to me how stupid it gets.
I am not whining about it, just making a statement.
I try to avoid stupidity, so I quit frequenting that frequency.

It appears that I have some how offended you.
Maybe if you had known how to use the simple formula and understood some basic stuff about transmission lines you would have gotten the correct answer in the " A SWR conundrum " thread and you wouldn't be so pissy with me.
You appear to be a little man with a big attitude.
There will be no more from me in this thread with reference to any post by you; Like I said: I try to avoid stupidity.

The biggest offenders on 555 are the ones that are protesting against Aldo and his Alpha-Tango group I think. So what if he has made money off people by giving them what they want even if it is just a number and some AT products.
I have been floating around that protion of the 11 meter band for over 35 yrs and what I am about to say may shock a few people - but here goes...

The biggest problem in this area of the band is with Ham operators, that's right, they come on .555 and raise hell and they absolutely don't want anyone to tell them to please move.
They strecth all the way from CAL, Arizona to the east coast and into Ontario, Canada. In the last cycle the guys from Arizona were jamming .555 for the whole month of Dec. one year - who were they? Ham operators, about 4 of them.

I just received e-mail from a guy 4 days ago from another state and along with him and a couple of other operators, they are being harrased by a "extra class" out the N.E. of the US (not saying the state) to the point that this guy might be going to do some physical harm. They are operating just a few KC's above 27.405.

I know two of these operators quite well and they never cause problems with anyone, but this "exta class" is hell bent on causing problems with them and others in this portion of the band.

One other thing, when the stations from Europe begain to show up, I never hear of any problems with the Europeans. Most of them take their radio communications seriously and never cause problems on the band - not that I have ever heard anyway.

So that's my intake, but; we are all just human and I am quit sure this type of problem will continue into the future.

I was Extra Class but I let it expire.
Will retest soon.
But I never took the attitude that is being demonstrated by a couple of posters in this thread.
Some of them HAMMIES are an odd sort anyway.
One even agreed with me on a post in this thread and then later took up with the one that is trying to be in opposition to me and it was over the same post.
Odd, just odd, why would someone do that.
He just a fella looking for a place to have a problem.
And that is OK with me if that's what you want people to think of you.

I see no evidence where the freebanders activity is doing any harm except violating FCC rules.
Let the first one without sin cast the first stone.
My problem with some of the activity on any frequency is the insane character of the people.
Just complete idiots.

Mr. Administrater, if you want to expell me then go ahead.
I don't need a real good reason to leave this forum anyway, you got some real ding-dongs that are frequent posters in here anyway.
I am not hookedon this forum anyway.............lol

If there seems to be some ambiguity about to whom I am directing my post; That is for a reason.
It is just for the purpose of causing the two individuals I am talking about more irritation.

Just to be clear, I agree with DXman/Larry. But nor am I inspiring a Ham vs CB thing. There are just very few Hams that do this. That is all it takes. CBers are not above it either, as few of them do things on Ham bands.

You will find them on both sides of that fence.
It is caused by those with personal problems; not a Ham vs CBer thing.
Never was.

It is a very old trick to get between two like forces, jump up between them and fire in both directions, then sit back down and watch the in-fighting begin. I want no part of that. It is important to recognize it when you see it so that you don't fall into that trap.

I'm a long time CB'er and I'm a long time HAM.

I can be an ass on both bands. Actually, I have been taking less shit on the HAM bands than I used to.

There is an ever increasing bunch of uneducated, misinformed arrogant HAM's on the air in the last 15-20 years.

The biggest issue I have is the ever increasing number of stupid ass NETS. God forbid, you are in the passband of a scheduled NET starting up.

Ask me politely like a man and I'll move. You interrupt my QSO by being a jerk, well, I'll tell YOU to move.

I don't dispute the fact that SOME of the trouble is from hams on the freeband. In fact I am sure that some of it is. All I ask is how do you know they are hams? Don't just take their word for it. I have heard a lot of non hams claim to have a ticket. Some were even local and I recognized their voices. LOL

With the exception of the Italians I would say that Europeans in general are more considerate on the air. I cannot recall how many times I have heard numerous requests for the Italian stations to standby only to have them key up and call again and again and again to the very station asking them to stand by. this applies to any band BTW and not just 11m. it is as frequent on 20m as on 11m. Almost all of the rude behavior and jamming etc and the ch 6 insanity comes from North America in general and about 98% of that comes from the USA. Not sure why it appears that way but perhaps it is just propagation characteristics. Others in the southern USA seem to notice most of it coming from Mexico etc.

We all grow up in do time, I now just shake my head and move on - it's only radio, right!!

Not sure why you would post that and I am sure it was probably directed at me. Things can get heated a bit at times but unless there is a REAL big problem or repeated problems nobody gets escorted to the door. Shit happened last night/this morning but that was for a very different reason.

Oh no, it's just not me saying this that it's hams, it's all over the air about who they are. I could give several call signs, but I won't because they have never actually bothered me.
Besides, I have never heard a non ham claim he was a ham operator.

How does anyone know who their buddy Todd is? Maybe he gave his call sign out?

There are a lot Ham op's working the 11 meter band and a lot of them are very good and decent guys to talk to and they can find out who is who pretty easy.

this is pretty funny

I love when the hams come to to 38lsb and shoot skip.
I had a guy the other day from Missouri ask me if I was a ham
and since I was in Illinois he was wondering if I could meet him
on 10 meters so he could do a contact to the county I live in
because 1 of his hobbies is working contacts during short skip for all the counties states close to him...
my reply was no I am not and stated I am in the process
of studying for my ticket so I cant meet you there.
he came back and said well u are just a cb'er
I aint gonna worry about it than.
I tried to talk to him and he flat out ignored me.. lol, lol, lol

i have ran into several hams on the air the past 6 months
and for the most part the ones i have spoke with give no respect
to 11 meter guys.. but yet they do love to hang out with us..
or work our 11 meter bands.. lol,lol
u know those 40 channels that we are only suppose to be on..
since u have 2 meters on up.. minus 11 meters..

I have been in this hobby a good 20 plus years and i can tell you..
i have met some cb guys who were total jerk offs. but the ham guys
take the cake. lots of them feel entitled and are cry babies

i think i need i to start going on 27.555 once a day to read
my hour bible service on the air to clense these operators
since i am in the central time zone I think a good time
would be 10am since the east coast guys will be up and
already motivated the west coast guys will just be getting up
making their folgers.
so if u hear unit 412 spreading the gospel that will be me..
i hope i can turn some of u ill ham operators into nice loving
radio operators and realize we all here for the hobby and to have fun
remember all my hams out here who read this JESUS LOVES YOU BROTHER

TOMORROWS SERVICE WILL BE THE BOOK OF JOB..
NO MATTER HOW BAD HE HAD HE STILL BELIEVED..

Pleazzzze....

This makes you just as big an Idiot as the rest of the loonies, Good show stooping to their level.

What makes you think that Hams can not be on 11 meters?
Last I knew that band ( CB) don`t require a lic, and is open to all radio Ops ( at least 26.965/27.405 ) so they can be there as well as you.
NO ONE IN THE U.S. should be on .555
Calling the Kettle Black Eh?

As for not giving respect, you get what you give, you do not have a clue who here is a Ham/CBer/Freebander on this forum ( or on-the-air for that matter) But it is becoming clear that at least one member has no problem jamming frequencies.....got a chip on the shoulder?

Perhaps you should heed your own words and get your own "house" in order before " casting stones at others" .....you think?

As this is starting to turn into a HAM v CB`er thing I do not see this thread lasting much longer......
Lets get off the US v Them bandwagon.

What I can't believe is that there is no one on the air in the city that these idiots are in. Back in the 70s if someone acted like these idiots do they would find at least that their swr was very high for some reason and if that didn't get the message across somehow their antenna got messed up, probably wind damage.

We need to take care of the band the way we did back then and get these nuts off the air. Also we need to start using 36-40 for ssb like it was done as well. Make a call on 38 and move to one of the others if you want to hold a long qso. And if you are locals using ssb then by all means use something besides 38 for your local stuff. If 38 is going to be the call ch then lets make it a call ch and start using what we have smartly.

I can't believe how many times you have one local talking with other locals and that nut is running 100 watts or more because all you hear is him. Back the power down if you are talking locally.

If we all use the band smartly and fix the nuts things can get better.

As far as the freebanders go I would think not making waves up there would be the smart thing to do. Just being on the air there is already risky and if you then start doing stupid stuff that is just asking for trouble from the FCC or worse. I am a firm believer in using the airwaves and making contacts with far away places. In order to do that we have to use our heads and take care of the band for ourselves, including those freqs that we love that are part of the freeband.

So lets have fun and make some long distance contacts and clean up the place around us if we can find the offenders that want to jam and do other stupid stuff.
