Although it has been several years since I bought a kit from Ramsey I am still sad to see it go. Kits are a great way to learn in this hobby but sadly nobody wants to learn anything these days. All they want is to memorize a few answers and buy an appliance to plug in. I wonder when Sears will start selling ham gear.
I put together a bunch of Ramsey and Ten-Tec kits when I first got into ham radio. I still have a Ramsey 2m PA packed away that I bought in 1990 and it still works.
Hmmm...Sears in the radio business. Silvertone Radios and Craftsman antennas?
I remember when Sears sold some pretty good CB radios like their own Road Talker series as well as the Pierce-Simpson and Midland lines. Then again they also sold Fanon and Courier back then too. LOL
The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) is the national association for amateur radio, connecting hams around the U.S. with news, information and resources.
