Rare Palamor 6, 10 and 11 meter radio


That's a rare bird for sure! Never heard of that one before either... Google brings up a few hits, but not many. I wonder if it was aimed at the European or Australian market rather than North America?

Not quite! On the bottom right of the radio there is a control marked out in MHz. The display is reading the KHz part of the frequency. So if the MHz control is set to, for example, 27, then we would be on 27125.0 KHz which is channel 14 on the regular band.
A similar thing is done with a lot of older 2 meter radios, where the display only shows the smallest MHz increment plus the KHz. So it will show 146.670 as 6670 or 6.670
 
I posted this Site because, in addition to the photos of the Palomar Kachina, there is a wealth of info on antennas, filters, tech notes. Nice products, great reading. Photos of his station and his restoration projects show they are all top-shelf.
I just wonder where he finds the time to do all this ???
