Hi Men,
So a 2950DX with no power on AM and full power on SSB. I checked Q66 and Q67. Both have ~13 volts on the outer pins and 2.27 volts on the center pins in AM on TX 100% power knob. Does that sound right?

Thanks as always!!

Quick check to see if final/driver bias is too low. Tune in this radio on a second receiver. Turn the power knob to max, and the mike gain down so that voice peaks are under 1 Watt. If the audio is still as clear as with the mike gain turned up, the bias is okay. If it gets raspy at low power, set final/driver bias and try again.

The center pin of Q66 should be higher than 2.3 Volts at max AM power, but you should still see SOME carrier. Setting VR15 for 6 Volts at max on the power knob might help.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
