Hello!

Is there a way or a place where you can purchase an e-chip for a RCI
2995DX base radio? Looked everywhere, but no luck.

In my experience they are hard to get a hold of most times. Ranger won't send them to you directly so you will usually have to try one of the distributors.

least carry some spare e-chips that they might be willing to sell?

You'll probably have better luck concentrating your efforts on finding a junker 2950, 2970 or base with an E-chip.

You can find them on eBay usually around $39.95 but the instructions that come with it really suck. The pics are un-readable

i seen a seller on ebay had a lot of them for sale but he wanted 50 bucks a peice

Somewhere in the deep, dark past I vaguely remember one of these plug-in "dongles" to contain only a jumper wire. I'm probably remembering a Connex model, though.

If nobody has cracked what's inside the so-called "E-chip", that's a shame. I would not sell one on a dare, if I had it. But I should check some old stock we bought in a closed-shop's leftover inventory. I won't sell one on a dare, but if nobody has the info to copy it, I'll at least pick it apart and have a look-see.
