First post after lurking around for quite some time........ftr, I like this forum very much, so thanks, first and foremost.

As I've grown older, (hopefully smarter) I've changed my logic pertaining to radios. Although I still have a very good performing Galaxy 73, I have decided I would like an exceptionally clean sounding radio for AM/SSB and future use on 10m and made my mind up on the 2950DX.

My questions:
1. Where to buy; who do you guys trust
2. I'll need the radio opened for 11m, and assuming it will need alignment and such; who do you guys recommend?
3. Is there benefit using a NC mike with this radio, and if so, what is involved in modifying say a 636L?

It is important to me to maintain the radio in a stock configuration (I'm afraid of someone hacking it up)

Thanks in advance, and again GREAT forum

Two good options. You could also check with Richard at 8541 electronics, he could probably either do it all, or you could find a radio and send it to him for a tune. I would also talk to Freecell on the forum here.
