Hello again,

I just was wondering. Can a guy take a t-conector and place it on the radio conection inback of a KICKER/AMP, an' run 1 coax to 1 radio, and the other end/coax to a antenna coax switch therefore running 2 or 3 different radios while turnning them On or OFF ? Or will this cause a loss in reception from said antenna ? I see a antenna duplexer for 2radios to 1 antenna or vise-a-versa on auction all the time.

Thanks and 73s to you and yours.

Bandit169,

Do the switching ~before~ you get to the amplifier, not after. That does two things, makes the higher power of the amplifier's output from getting back to the radios as 'easily' , and doesn't change the feed line impedance. Using a "T" will change the feed line's impedance.

Hey Doc,

That sounds cool, So i should bring in the line/ Coax to my Triple meter , then go to the switch box. And from there to my AMP and other radios ? Is that right.? I have a 3 into 1 or a 1 into 3 switchbox. Therfore where and how will i use the amp?OR WILL THE AMP BE SEPARATE FROM ALL THE RADIOS IN GENERAL?OH NO I GOT CONFUSED AGAIN!!! I hate when that happends.

Thanks, I will wait on your reply before i make a screw up.

Okey Guys, I did just that, But i first had the ant' comming in to meter then to amp then to switch and then to all 3 radios I was able to use it that way, where i could use amp with all 3 radios.( Someone told me i could not do that ).So thats why i asked. I now have the line/coax comming from the meter to switch then # 1 To amp to my RCI and the # 2 & # 3 radios are seperate from amp now, Unable to use amp on them.It works the same but just one amp to one radio this way. Now again, WHY can't i run from meter to amp to switch to radio's? Please explain back travel volts.

Thanks an' 73s.

I know it can be done, because I do it that way. But as Doc says, get the right switches. Diawa makes some good ones...

Okey CX the T conector.. I do on the other hand understand what you are sayin' about the back travel. Like i said that is why i asked this question. The way i had it to begin with worked fine Going into the meter then the amp then to the switch and to the radios. But now i have it running from the meter to the switch then to the amp and to the radios seperately. Just added an amp to each radio. It seems to be working fine . The switch CX's each of the radios when one is in use.The switch is good for 1000 watts, so i don't think i have anything to worry about yet. Anyway, thanks for all your input on this matter guy's, it has helped me alot. 73s & 88s to ya'.That still leaves me as a mudduck!! QUACK,QUACK i am back out.
