bro with the right Cb tech you have no worries . optima and 257 have excellent
receive w/ proper adjustments.
Everyone said the rci 2970 has a noisy receive .........
mine has a outstanding receive , thanks to my tech.
any how im glad you looked into the selections i pitched your way . What antenna are you rocking ?

I never thought much of these little radios. Never gave them a chance but i must say i am very very impressed. I've got the diode mod for rx in just about every radio I own. I spend a lot of time with a new purchase tweaking the ears. ect ect. but I must say this radio hears as good as my best radio. I am reluctant to put it in a car now lol. Over the air reports have been all good. Great radio. Money well spent so far.

They are great little radios for the money. Don't think you will find another that does what the magnum 257hp does for the same money. Glad you are happy with it, I love mine and use it in a mobile, if you do plan on putting it in the mobile, make sure to use at least #10awg or bigger. I use #8awg myself, used a distribution block at the battery with 1/0 from the battery to the block and 1 #8awg for the radio and 1 #4awg for my amp. Works well. I also ordered some #8awg extensions (24"), that I use to the radio, I think the factory cable is a bit too small IMO. Just some food for thought. Anyway glad you like til radio, and let me ask Charlie Brown, where did you purchase it? I can't seem to find anymore or I would probably buy another lol. For the money they work well.
