Does anyone have any techs they can recommend for repairing Texas Star amps?
The Texas Star amps are generally fairly straight forward to repair.
I have repaired numerous TS amps over the years.
BBI is another amp repair guy.
What specific Texas Star amp are you needing repaired ?
Hey ranch, it’s a Dx400 bi-lateral, Here’s the whole sordid story from my post yesterday
Thanks, is that a member, website?
Where are you located? There are a few guys around the country that can help.
This guy Mike repaired a few for me but it was years ago. He worked for Texas star (galaxy) years back then went on to do repairs on his own. Here's his email Texasstarrepair@cox.net but not sure if he's even still doing it anymore
Yes, the Texas Star "Mike" is the go-to guy for those amplifiers.
Haven't heard from him in a while. Was on the old CB Tricks forum, but that was years ago.
The response from the remote server was:
550 5.1.1 <firstname.lastname@example.org> Recipient address rejected: User does not exist.
I last talked to Mike about a year ago. He helped me with a couple of issues.
He may still be working at Galaxy Radio Repair working on the Texas Star Amplifier repairs.
This is the last email address I used to communicate with Mike Hawkins .....
Last I looked his website was gone. He was helpful and was really good.
I also talked to mike several times via e mail about some modifications I was doing.
It has been a long time but I also used the Texas star repair @Cox address.
That's a different Mike (son of the owner), and he's still there. The Mike we're referring to is a guy that was building and repairing long before the Mike you speak of was leading the tech support. The guy we speak of was laid off several years ago when things started to slow down. Just wanted to clear that confusion
