repairs of a handheld

Hi All,
KE8EHI here, it has the 2 pin jack. I currently use the mic/earphone gizmo that came with it. The earpiece wire is so fragile and doesnt stay in my ear well. I really need to fix the speaker. I still do not have my first contact chalked up.

I've bought parts to fix my Yaesu mobile radio from the aforementioned place. Actually, it/they were pretty cheap including the shipping. If you have the patience, you can always take a whack at fixing it yourself. Shouldn't be too difficult to replace a speaker. I had broken vol/tuning pots, and it was a bit of a bear to do; but not all that hard . . .

Plenty of replacement speaker manufactures out there. Take out the speaker and get all the dimensions of it, then find a suitable replacement on interweb:

Get: Outer diameter of frame, shape of outer frame, diameter of magnet, total depth of frame and magnet and impedance (4,6 or 8 ohms usually printed on the back of the magnet)

These speakers are usually just glued in place. Not saying these laptop computer speakers would fit but you get the idea:

Hi Triple B
Thanks, that's a great idea. I was trying to avoid taking out the board myself but its only 5 screws and it looks like this is plan B or plan BBB.
Again my thanks
KE8EHI
