Here are pictures of 3 different antenna readings using the analyzer. Enjoy

Yes that’s a 102 inch whip laying in the bed. Predator is being feed with LMR240 and the Colossal 5/8 ground plane is being feed with DXEngineering coax(135 feet). The Arrow dual band J-pole is being feed with LMR240.

Mike your a funny guy. Resonant frequency’s are shown in the pictures....pretty close to 27205 on Colossal and Predator...except the UHF/VHF pictures.

There are 8 pics posted...the bottom of the graphs show frequency read outs. A couple of pics state the resonant frequency.

Generally speaking a low SWR reading is a good indicator the antenna is resonant. A dummy load at 50 ohms is not resonant because the load is the same across the frequency spectrum. Again generally speaking I don’t tune for resonance but lowest SWR. Let the fireworks begin

Since you acknowledge resonance and swr are not the same, and you solely tune for swr knowing it may or may not be resonant, there is no need for fireworks. Was that your intention? Just wanted to give the pot a good stir to liven things up a bit?

On this forum or any I don’t stir the pot or troll. Given I have two solid state amps the resonant frequency of the Predator would take out the DEI transistors. So SWR is very important to protect the amp. Secondly the reason I tune for SWR is that I believe Resonant frequency is a single point/frequency. Resonant frequency is not always 50 ohms which isn’t appreciated by solid state rigs.

Sad to say, but you are wrong. Simple example. My antenna on desired frequency is in resonance, but 160Ohm :)
Mike

I don’t mind being wrong...no biggie...it’s all about learning and connecting the dots for me. My Colossal antenna is pretty much resonant at the lowest SWR point. The Predator not so much. I never tune for resonance. If that frequency coincide’s with the lowest SWR point great...if not SWR wins the day.

Hello I have a old school 2950 receives great on all modes and transmits great on AM but no transmit on SSB. Does anyone have any idea?
