Just wondering if anyone had seen this before, or something like it.

Sidebander (SBE-CB-6) that drifts around quite a bit on all channels. As in up to the 28 - 29 MHz range.

Until I touch it, then it's rock solid on frequency. Doesn't matter where I touch it, as long as I do.

I'm guessing it's a capacitance issue, but I'll be darned if I know where to start looking without touching the radio.

This is in AM, since that's the easiest to get to register on my frequency counter. Once AM is fixed I'll worry about sideband.

Gladly accepting hints, suggestions, clues, insults, etc.

The radio has been recapped, and wasn't working at all about five hours ago. So it's already better than it was, it's just that better isn't very good at the moment.

As the great playwright Homer once said, "D'oh!"

They weren't really loose but I backed them off and then played gorilla tightening them down. Problem seems to have been cured.

It's always the little things...

Thank you, sir!
