Then you need to use another firmware/ If you look at the post with the graph this is the range that you can transmit with the correct firmware. I will post the link that we both used later tonight.
 
Just finished my tx measurement and warning!.
Do not tx under 136MHz without hw modification.
50MHz tx 2nd harmonic 100MHz is stronger then 50MHz signal!.
70MHz tx 2nd harmonic is equal to tx freq !

AM rx at weak signals is good but there seem to be issue with agc.
High AM rx signal level sound is badly distorted.

No the firmware is not the issue, its a poorly made radio with overall terrible receive
