I've got a working un-modified Siltronix 1011D and I'm having a difficulty figuring out the microphone wiring. Evidently someone has put a non-stock cord on this non amplified D-104.
My non amplified DuKane 7C40 Astatic D-104 has a shield, a Black and a White wire. I connected the shield to the common ground terminal on the 1/4" microphone plug . I connected the Black to the tip and the White to the ring. It cuts off the receive audio when I plug it in. It will modulate fine on sideband. I reversed the Black and White wires and it does the same thing. There is continuity between the red and black as well as the shield to either insulated wire (no resistance). Should this microphone cord have 3 insulated wires and a shield? What am I doing wrong?
Any help will be appreciated.
