Open her on up and it'll show you what the innards are. I've never owned one but that's what I'd do first but of course I open all my equipment up before ever using because I like to see what's in there first

Yes rk56 or astatic switch will work. All skythumper switches go bad.

I replaced mine with a RK 56 Switch. These Skythumper mics are awesome out side the faulty switches.
