Was wondering why there was hardly any days with the solar flux around 200. Checked NOAA site, geez, it seems cycle 25 may have peaked last August 2024. Maybe another 2 years of skips, then back to the low bands....

Last summer was very good DXing for me and hope it will continue thru this year also, but who knows? All the predictions are worth what we paid for them, we'll just have to see what happens.

I heard it peaked this last December. Still pretty decent conditions most days here, but it's not what it was a few months ago.
I'll enjoy it while it lasts......I seem to be the last local left standing, so once the DX goes into the doldrums I will probably just pack everything away and focus on one of my many other hobbies. With any luck I'll still be on this earthly plane when cycle 26 rolls around. I'm 60 this year, so I figure I got a fighting chance LOL!

It's not over yet, we've still got conditions as we ride down the peak of the cycle. At least a couple of good years if not a little longer. Right now it's doing what it always does into the summer months, the fall will bring conditions back in again.

About this same time last year it had already died off and stayed that way most of the summer so it's to be expected. Really it's been that way since about 2021 or so.

I'm no expert by any means, just stating what I've experienced.

Here on the west coast we have moved into e-skip season. There have been decent openings to the south, southwest, and west the last few days. Lots of western states and provinces being heard & contacted.
It comes and goes........nothing but static for a couple hours, then all of a sudden signals come pounding in for a while, then back to static a little bit later. Deep QSB all the time as well....

Still getting strong F2 paths to the South Pacific every afternoon and evening too.
Not hearing any Europe, Africa, Asia, or South America at all. I'm sure the deep South American's, particularly southern Argentina and Brazil, will be back soon as they are almost as common as the Aussies here!

Cycle 25 has been a bust for me so far. I'm still waiting for decent ANYTHING in my area (Alberta). Sure, there has been propagation into the USA but weak. Weak International (Europe,Africa,South America,Pacific). Weak Canada (East,West). Just all round lame. Nowhere near my contacts made during the last cycle 24.

Yep boys, reality is that we're on the ride back down and it's flown right on by! Hopefully the prediction is correct and that it doesn't decide to just face plant on us causing the fun to end sooner.

The ride up the cycle was a good one in the periods from fall to early summer so for the fall most of us in north America will see how it's going to go for us.

We can say it's been a better ride than what we had the last cycle.
