Stryker 497 hpc

So I have been looking new for another radio to add to the list. I been coming across the Stryker 497. I did a little research or as much as I can and it seems a lot of people seem to enjoy these radios. I’d like to hear from owners who have these radios or people who have worked on them and get an overall review on these. Also I heard the receive on them is a little different . Thanks

Have one with 11m mod jumper. 130w +. Great reports on it. No SSB. Caught a lightning strike and fried the amp board and probably other things.

I had the 497 and have a 955. Sold the 497,gotta have ssb! Both are solid radios though.

I have a 440 and it is a talker for sure. It's the precursor to the 497 but probably totally different inside. Love my 955 too.

I rarely talk on sideband. Mostly I’m talking to a bunch of locals and sometimes when skip comes in. But I do have a sideband rig. Just gotta get her back to life. But I like both of the 497 and 955. Hell I may just buy both lol
