STUBORN RADIO KNOBS ?????

Might sound dumb to some , but every now and then I come across radios with very hard to get off knobs , this is when a fine screw driver won't even help loosen them , any ideas out there ?

I get that all the time I shoot WD40 into the back and let the radio sit on the knobs and within 15 mins they slide off or are a lot easier to pry off .. I learned that from pulling to hard in the past and screwing up a pot!

I use Contact Cleaner "7.89 plus tax a can" first because it does not leave the residue and smell that WD-40 does.

Thanks guys , good ideas for sure , I used a little fishing reel oil on them , didn't take but a few minutes to get them off , I thought some a-hole glued them on there for a while , IM just glad that wasn't the case. Thanks for your times. SK

Another good use for fish oil.
I take it everyday to lower my cholestrol.

I don't think fishing reel oil is the same thing hardhead , but I get what your saying.

But reel fish oil is high in Omega 3`s, and is heart smart!
Just don`t get any on the mic, makes em smell like tuna!!!!!!!!! :twisted: :twisted:

I was digging through my dads old stuff and found a neat little oil dispenser from the 1970/80's called "Omega one drop Instrument Oil" 1/2 oz No.701 with a 2-3 inch needle at the end. It is 3/4 full is this for signal meters??

Omega is a company that makes lots of measuring devices, gauges, load cells,thermocouples, data loggers, the list goes on forever. Not sure it was ment for signal meters though, might shoot them an E-Mail and ask if you want to know.
