Agreed w9 , you must admit it looks like something they use in a ship yard to lift metal plate . I guess it has the " Cool " Look factor covered .

The multi-magnet mounts do increase the capacitive coupling to the vehicle and thus increase the efficiency a little bit. The best of those mounts have the magnets mounted with a flexible grommet or have a flexible collar that allows all the magnets to sit flat against the metal panel. If there is much of a curve the magnets may not sit perfectly flat and will not hold as well.
