i'm sure it will be just as good or better than wild quail!

grill 'em with basic seasoning

or bake them in the oven, finish with a little bar bq sauce.

used to trap them too as a boy and my mom cooked them in her own homemade sauce, i remember her recipe had a little bit of McCormicks chili, just a dash or two she said, then on went the lid of the dutch oven...

man, i miss the good old days.

We have a dude about 4 houses down from me that used to raise beagles and bird dogs for hunting. He also raised Quail and had a nice setup out back. My dad and him are big buddies. Every so often he'd give the old man a few Quail to eat. The way my mom would cook them you couldn't tell them from fresh shot wild. Damn good though.

He quit all that about 20 years ago, he's pushing 90 years old. Now he has a weiner dog for a pet.

This kid has some cool video's on his YouTube channel that deal with basic survival skills. Kinda reminds me of when I was his age.

Swedish Fire Torch - YouTube

last fall, I took my mom to Kroger's to get groceries. On the front entrance area thay had a bunch of short logs like this. It looked like they took a chainsaw and cut a starred pattern into the top then pushed one of them fireplace starting sticks down in it. I might try to make a few of them like that to see how well they work.

I have to admit

The boys comment on adding some jerky to his ramen noodles sounded like a good idea.

I pack jerky into the field all the time! Alot of it is home made venison jerky from a simple brine solution-water, a little salt and just some basic seasonings-garlic, onion powder...

When i out of deer and really crave it, i get some eye of round, or inside round chunks at the store and make some to last until deer season.
on edit: and a little black pepper! one year i took a bottle of montreal steak seasoning and put it in my black pepper corn grinder, then I finely ground the MSS, onto my venison-Man was that good jerky!!!

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
