I wondered, too. I didn't see anything negative, just that the tests are pretty easy. Extra is not. You'd think it might encourage others to test. I'm glad I did.
 
I would say..

those wanting to get a tech licence and are using say QRZ to memorize the answers..
then those guys best take their tests really soon
(before end of month)

those who are studying to learn and know what you need
then simply take the test when you are ready..

next months test will not be any harder
just some questions will be removed and other questions added

the types of questions will be the same

Personally
i studied for 45 mins (actually only did that because i was helping a friend to pass...he had failed 3 times...so i simply sat down with him to explain what he needed to know.. thankfully he only had to remember it for a couple of hours lol)

General written is easy..
Extra written is easy..

Code some find easy (i am not one of them...lol)

Marconi may not have had a MFJ259B or the internet, or Element 1 for that matter. Yet, he did just fine, along with ham radio.
