Hi to all. I have a texas star 500 dx that has worked very well until now. I run it with a cobra 29 ltd classic at about 1.5 to 2 watts dead key. Now the meter and meter light have ceased to work. The unit has power and the fuses are good. SWR is 1.6 to 1. It has good carrier but no modulation. I have checked the mic and the jumper cables. These work fine if I disconnect the ts 500 and run barefoot or just use the external watt meter. Any ideas why it quit working and the meter and meter light went out? I am just learning to make repairs and any help would be appreciated!

Thank you Long night

Ham radio operators (VHF/UHF) should pay attention to enhanced radio propagation paths throughout the middle latitudes and equatorial region, a common occurrence following such events. :coffee: (y)

Had "Aurora" propagation on CW/SSB on 6m last evening. (300-700m range here) The 2m guys had lots of Ducting/TROPO between the East Coast and Gulf Coast op's, even early today.
