tight buget base antenna

Yea it was storming here very bad for a long time so I unpluged the coax. I was trying on contest freq. though after storm went through but no one was on, I almost always get 116 or you. OH well I will try tonight.

The weather is supposed to be very hot this weekend, 92+ and high humidity so unless you do your antenna early morning befor the heat builds or you love hot weather you prob. wont be getting it up.

just wanted to let everybody know i got my 5/8 up and im SUPER pleased

went up pretty easily too

i had originally bought the wrong size pole so i only had the antenna 2 or 3 feet off of my roof yesterday and made a few contacts one as far away as daytona beach

hit the local "cell phone shak" early this AM and bought 2 10 foot masts and a big tripod mount

so we got it about 55-60 foot to the feed point now and its just blowing smoke

i took some pictures for you guys along with some of the shack here with my 2995DX that i bought recently but i cant find the cord for the camera so you guys will have to wait

Where did you get the sigma antenna?, I found some on the web but price was high 70 plus

This is Antenna Warehouse's attempt of taking a good name for their profit! Just like people putting Palomar or Messenger on amps. It's the CB way, and WRONG!!!

The Avanti and/or Antenna Specialist Sigma 5/8 looks NOTHING like this and is made much better!!!

Don't be confused and don't get ripped off! This is NOT a "Sigma 5/8".
 
JUST LOOKS LIKE A MACO ALPHA TO ME AND OR OLD WILSON GROUND PLANE (I THINK MACO BAUGHT IT FROM WILSON YEARS AGO THEN BARJAN BAUGHT OUT MR WILSON ) BUT $HIT MAN !! 62.OO DOLLARS FOR THAT AIN'T BAD AT ALL !!

The antenna from GI Joe says it comes with "U-Bolts". The Maco does not. If you got the Maco instead of the crap being advertised, you did real good!
