sound like an easy fix turn the knob but the knob on this 29 gtl has been replaced with a varable talkback knob :headbang so i was wondering if anyone knows if there is a pot inside that can adjust it on an original cobra 29 gtl

not the modulation we clipped the d11 for that the mic gain control was removed and a variable talkback was wired to that switch but is there a pot inside of the radio that also controls mic gain? because it is all the way up because the points for it are bridged together

Vr4 was the only thing that could be adjusted in the radio itself but if the limiter was clipped thats a problem reconnect it or I guess maybe a power mic with a volume may beable to control the audio by backing it down or adding a resistor inline may help but thats for one of the other radio techs that are AM experts.

why do you feel you need the mic gain?

does the radio have an echo control installed in the DELTA TUNE position?
