Too rich for a tent but too poor for a motorhome.

The thread title pretty much says it all. We used to like to camp and used a large tent but in recent years with two kids now in their early teens it has become a drag to do so, so we haven't done any camping at all. The last year or two I have been thinking to myself it would be nice to have a tent trailer or such. Unbeknownst to me my wife had been thinking the same thing. Last week she mentioned that maybe we should look at buying a tent trailer and so we started to look at some ads for used units.I just spent three of my last four days off work running around to different RV dealers and today we finally signed off on a brand new 2011 Palomino Y-4127 tent trailer. It has a 12 foot box plus two feet up front for storage,a slide out dining section, sleeping room for seven,3-way fridge, stove and BBQ as well as both hot and cold water, attached 11 by 7 foot screened room and just about everything else needed for roughing it. We pick it up next Monday when my vehicle goes in to have the trailer hitch upgraded to a class three and get wired for the trailer lights and brakes. The dealer threw in the hitch and wiring as well as the brake controller and a couple other small items at no extra charge, about a $700 package. It might not be a motorhome but it beats the hell out of a tent in the rain. :thumbup1:

Now for the bad news...........after we struck the deal we went out for a bite to eat. While at the restaurant my cell phone rang and it was work telling me that my vacation planned for next week was likely not going to happen due to only having one relief in the department, current vacations, and added work load next week. :crying: :cursing: :headbang

Sweet! I've lived and traveled in RV's, both MHs and trailers. It's necessary to have good fit to your needs and your pocketbook. Glad you found what you needed.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
