The glue, always gets the mic element in thoseI have two of them. It seems that one has to basically yell into the microphone to get it to actually modulate.Though its younger brother the HTX-10 works great.
I may have to bring it back out and try a different mic. (Maybe the one it had was broken.)

I still have mine out in the shed. I used it back in the mid 90s when I first got my ticket. It worked surprisingly well with just a HT driving it..I had the RS two meter mag mount antenna, I still think it was the best two meter antenna mobile antenna ever. I would use one today if I could find one.
