Me too......

And don't forget Radio Shack Lifetime tubes
I have to admit I might have abused that warranty a few times....

I have two of them. It seems that one has to basically yell into the microphone to get it to actually modulate. :) Though its younger brother the HTX-10 works great.

I may have to bring it back out and try a different mic. (Maybe the one it had was broken.)
The glue, always gets the mic element in those

I didn't realize it got the mic like that. :/ A shame...

I at least recapped the 1 HTX-100, and removed that glue inside the radio. There was some fixes for the radio at the mic audio. Something about removing a ceramic cap, and changing out a capacitor, and using a resistor where you remove the ceramic cap etc... I would need to find where I found that. It honestly seemed to of helped, but I will need to compare it to the other HTX-100 that is still left alone without the changes.

Only seen a mod a few months ago a mod the HTX100 I think to convert CW to LSB. Didnt look that hard either. Remember reading years ago they were like a HR2510 but had a better filter on SSB as per AudioShocks pic. They were known for the LCD display slowly bleeding black with time from the edges inwards.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
