I have a bit of a short story that leads into my question , so please bare with me ... lol
When I was around 12 years old , I had an older man that moved into my neighborhood ... I noticed (what looked like) a close line in his back yard , but it was a perfect square all around his back yard . So when I asked him about it , he told me it was an antenna . Since I had never heard of Ham Radio before this , he told me and my friend all about it , and showed us his radio room , which his walls were covered with QSL cards ... and he showed us his equipment ... this is where my question comes in .
I can remember his equipment very well . It was turquoise colored (possibly light blue) , with all metal cases , more like the 50s stuff .... definitely tube equipment . I have been looking on the internet for years trying to find out what his equipment was ... but I haven't had any luck . About 20 years ago , I was working in a store that sold second hand stuff , and an entire ham radio set up that looked exactly like his came in ... it also sold pretty fast . When I looked at it , it was turquoise , but it all said Browning on it .... which shocked me , because I thought that Browning only made CB equipment .
So , does anyone have any idea what his equipment he might have had , and is it possible that Browning made Ham Radio equipment ? I can't find anything online about any equipment that comes close to what I saw he had .... just that Browning stuff that I saw in that shop 20 years ago.
He's the one that originally sparked my interest in ham radio , and I always thought it would be cool to find a set up like he had , but it would be nice to know what I'm looking for
